Kesender performs repairs at HDD physical sector level. Reassignment/Skip of uncorrectable bad sectors, fix servo data/track zero problems, and block off unrepairable bad sectors by special clipping functions are all time favourites of our HDD recycling customers. After the repair, you can perform a complete HDD test to guarantee 100% functionality. Unlike OEM manufacturer's HDD diagnostic/repair software, Kesender repairs any manufacturers drive at up to 10 times faster speed with better recycling ratio. Q2: How to Operate KING - Kesender ?
Simply place the hard drive on the top of KING - Kesender and connect the DC power cable and interface cable. Then power on KING - Kesender and select one of 15 operations to start. (E.g. REPAIR, ALL WRITE TEST, ONE CYCLE TEST) Once completed, the LCD and LED will signal the end of the operation. You do NOT need PC or any software to perform HDD Test/Repair/Erase, KING - Kesender, means NO extra equipment is required.

Q3: Can KING - Kesender work with operating systems such as UNIX, and HPFS?
Yes, since KING - Kesender only sees the drive's physical sectors it is irrelevant what operating system it contains (if any).

Q4: Can KING - Kesender work with any ATA, S-ATA or SCSI Interface drive?
Yes, KING - Kesender comes with two interface connectors as standard. The SATA interface is optional.

Q6: How to repair a HDD?
This is the most commonly used method to test/repair HDD using Kesender by many US recyclers.
1. Perform [Func 9. Test and Repair] for entire HDD --This will test the HDD and if any errors are found it will try to reassign/skip the bad sectors including servo data.
2. Perform [Func A. Write All test] for first 500MB of HDD -- this will erase HDD(MBR) as a final test.
3. If any of the above fails, you can perform [Func 4. ALL Erase & Compare] and then perform [Func 9. Test and Repair] again----this may repair HDD, which can not be repaired previously..
(4.) If still fails [Func 9. Test and Repair], the HDD is NOT repairable.
** DRIVE CLIPPING FUNCTION **
(5.) By pressing and holding [SEL] for 3 seconds, you can find where the uncorrectable bad sector is located by MB
(6.) Use this information to clip the HDD to a smaller size (e.g. if uncorrectable bad sector is at 2,301MB, you can manually clip the HHD to 2,300MB) using [Func E.Clip (manual)]
(7.) After Clipping you then have a smaller size HDD ready to use

Q7: Can I test a HDD completely without changing any HDD data ?
Yes. If you have some doubt about a HDD problem, you can test the HDD without changing any data by selecting [Func C;One Cycle Test].

Q8: What is the fastest way to test a HDD?
If the HDD is SMART capable, perform [Func 6: SMART check]. This takes only 10 seconds and will give you an overall evaluation of the HDD. If it is NOT SMART compatible, please use [Func C: One Cycle Test] or [Func 9: Test & Repair]

Q9: Will KING - Kesender repair a "Track 0" problem on my HDD?
Yes, if the bad sector is re-assignable. Unlike PC software, Kesender can repair bad sectors, regardless of location.
