NEW - Zoom II Series Test Kits |
The ZOOM II is one of the world's most economical and precise fiber optic power meters delivering professional performance and a complete feature set for optical loss testing in both multimode and singlemode networks.
The ZOOM II is N.I.S.T. Traceable at four commonly used industry standard wavelengths (850, 1300, 1310, and 1550), which makes it an ideal choice for both multimode and singlemode testing.
The ZOOM II can store reference values for all of its calibrated wavelengths, and displays optical power as an absolute value in dBm or relative to a user set "zero" reference in dB. It has an intuitive two-button interface, with one button controlling power and wavelength selection, while the other is used to toggle between dBm, dB, and uW, as well as setting the optical reference, or "zero".
Other standard features include a 4-digit, 0.01dB resolution display, battery status indicator, and a 2.5mm Universal detector port that is compatible with FC, ST, SC, DIN, and any other 2.5 mm ferrule connectors!
The following accessories are included with each ZOOM II: rugged rubber boot, carrying strap, NIST certificate of calibration, and operations manual on CD.
The ZOOM II can also be upgraded to include data storage and a download port to turn it into a full-featured fiber optic link certification power meter.
OWL components are available as individual items therefore additional sources can be added at a later date if required. Sources are also available in low cost single wavelength options

WaveTester Series Test Kits |
WaveTester kits include a WaveTester optical power meter, your choice of light source combinations, a hard-shell carrying case, protective rubber boots, lanyard straps, OWL Reporter software and operations guide on CD.
WaveTester kits include a WaveTester optical power meter, your choice of light source combinations, a hard-shell carrying case, protective rubber boots, lanyard straps, OWL Reporter software and operations guide on CD. There are two versions of WaveTester kits. WaveSeries Auto-Test fiber optic test kits offer conveniences not found in many test kits in its class, including automatic wavelength switching and automatic data point storage, both of which save valuable testing time. Single-port dual-wavelength sources eliminate the need for separate reference cables, and also allow some versions to have an optional VFL installed. The quad-wavelength test kit offers 850, 1300, 1310, and 1550nm all in one source. The WaveTester power meter stores up to 100 test results which can be downloaded to the PC at a later date. Using the OWL reporter software, the user can then certify the fibres tested to IEEE protocol or industry standards.
Note that certification is the calculation of the optical link budget and that this calculation is performed on the PC with Wavetester (Fibre OWL offers this calculation on the meter)
WaveTester fibre optic test kits can also include the Dual OWL and Laser OWL line of light sources, which are offered as separate multimode (Dual OWL) and single-mode (Laser OWL) units. These manually operated sources offer an alternative for users who do not require the extra convenience of auto-testing or want an even more cost effective solution (Call for a quotation).
For fibre certification it is necessary to know the fibre length and the WaveTester kit can be supplied complete with a length tester or this item can be purchased separately at a later date.

The universal fibre adapter accepts both ST, SC, FC, DIN, and E2000 connectors. It will operate for over 200 hrs on a standard alkaline 9v battery and has built-in auto shutdown. The Fiber OWL includes a built-in link wizard that easily calculates the allowable loss for the fibre runs being measuring which is used to determine IEEE protocol and industry standards based certification.
All Fiber OWL 4 power meters include automatic wavelength detection and switching. The power meter stores physical fibre information for up to eight links. Link information includes: link name, date, fibre type, fibre length, connectors, splices, temperature, cabling standard, and calculated or entered reference power values for two wavelengths. In addition the meter will store up to 1000 measured data points with labels. Each value includes the fibre type and link. The stored information can be selectively viewed, edited (measured again), printed, or deleted. The meter will print formatted reports indicating simple PASS or FAIL results of selected stored data directly using the built in serial port, or all of the stored data can be downloaded to the free OWL Reporter software.
For fibre certification it is necessary to know the fibre length and the Fibre OWL kit can be supplied complete with an inbuilt length tester or a separate length tester can be purchased at a later date.
OWL components are available as individual items therefore additional sources can be added at a later date if required. Sources are also available in low cost single wavelength options.

Visual Fault Locator |
The OWL PCVFL (Precision Coupled Visual Fault Locator) is a light-weight, hand-held tool used to quickly troubleshoot faults in the continuity of both single mode and multi-mode fibres, especially at fibre launch points or in OTDR dead zones. A high intensity visible red laser beam is precision-coupled into an optical fibre; breaks and micro-bends in the fibre deflect the red light into the fibre jacket, producing a red glow at the point of the fault
- High-intensity visible laser allows for visible fault location of breaks and microbends in both single-mode and multimode fibres
- Both Continuous Wave mode and Pulsed mode allow for easy fibre identification
- Standard ST connector (other connector options may be available - contact us for more information)
- Simple single-switch operation
- CW Mode - 15 hours use on one 9v battery
- Pulsed Mode - 120 hours use on one 9v battery
- Low -battery indicator
- Hand-held
- Lightweight

BOLT - Beaming Optical Length Tester |
The BOLT uses a "looped" method of measuring fiber length. This is accomplished by looping back two fibers at one end of the fiber run with a patch cord. The round trip time that the light takes to travel through the fibres is converted to length in kilometers, then divided by two to show the length of the fibre cable. There is no need to measure the length of all the fibres; the length measurement can be applied to all fibres in the cable.
BOLT uses a 1310nm laser to measure fibre links of up to 25 kilometers, and is accurate to within ±2.5 meters. In addition to length testing, the BOLT doubles up as a stable -10dBm laser light source, and a pulsing mode allows for fibre location with fibre identifiers.
- Measures the length of both single mode andmulti-mode fibre with accuracy of ± 2.5 meters
-
Doubles as a stable -10 dBm 1310nm single mode light source (BOLT-1 only)
